Our story

It started with Cookie's recipe box.

My mom, Cookie to everyone who knows her, has been collecting recipes for more than 40 years. More than 6,000 of them live in MasterCook, from old-world heirloom recipes from Norway to the latest thing she found and couldn't wait to try.

Cookie never leaves a good recipe alone. She swaps in whole, nutritious ingredients and somehow makes it taste even better. Each of her grandkids has a favorite birthday dinner, and Grandma Cookie is the one who makes it.

When MasterCook stopped being supported, we realized how fragile all of that was. A lifetime of cooking lived inside one company's software.

A better home for every family's recipes

So I built Cookie's recipes a new home. Rescuing her collection taught us what a recipe app should be. It should be easy to start, bringing everything with you, even the messy old files. It should be easy to use, with planning, shopping and cooking all in one calm place and nothing in the way. And it should be easy to leave. Your recipes export anytime, in formats anyone can open.

That last part matters most. You should stay because Pepita is good, not because your recipes are trapped.

Pepita is small and independent, and we're building it with the first families who use it. If your family's recipes deserve a better home, join us.
